AIR TRAINING CORPS
If you're aged between 13 and 18 and enjoy a challenge, the Air Training Corps (ATC) in the Highlands may be just what you are looking for! We are a national youth organisation, sponsored by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and have over 60 Squadrons throughout the Highlands. Apart from encouraging ATC activities, Highland RFCA is responsible for the maintenance of the estate.

ATC Objectives
- To promote and encourage, in young men and women, a practical interest in aviation and in the RAF.
- To provide training which will be useful both in the Services and in civilian life.
- To foster the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
These objectives were laid down in 1938 and are as valid today as they ever were. The ATC offers you the chance to live and to experience things about which others can only dream. ATC Cadets undergo a progressive training programme which includes first aid, map reading, aircraft engineering principles, communications, shooting and competitive sport. They also have the opportunity to gain experience in the air in some of the most modern aeroplanes in the world. By the time they are 17, they may have achieved a glider licence!
This doesn't even mention the challenge and the fun involved.
