Fife businesses join Forces

17.09.2019

Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award holders, Fife Chamber of Commerce, put a military twist on their monthly networking event.

Fife are one of four Chambers taking part in ChamberFORCE; a partnership programme between selected Scottish Chambers of Commerce and local Army, Navy and RAF units, designed to bring tangible business benefits to Chamber members.

As part of their monthly ‘Fife-Social’, members of Fife Chamber gathered at A Company Detachment 7 Scots in Kirkcaldy to learn more about the role of Reservists and how to become an Armed Forces Friendly Employer.

Those attending were given the opportunity to speak to Gunners from 212 Battery, 105 Regiment Royal Artillery and get a close-up look at the L118 Light Gun – a 105mm gun used by the Royal Artillery.

Guests also had the chance to try out the specially-commissioned ‘Virtual Battlespace Simulator’. The advanced technology mimics the properties of the weapon systems and allows the Gunners to test out different artillery fire, ammunition types and response times. The scope for interactive scenario creation is only limited by the controller’s imagination.

Members of the Chamber give the Virtual Battlefield a try.
