On March 12 the World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak as a pandemic.
It has caused global disruption, affecting countless organisations and businesses across the UK and beyond.
The Service Cadets have been impacted, with the Sea Cadets, Army Cadet Force (ACF) and RAF Air Cadets suspending all activities until further notice. This encompasses all activity including training evenings, residential weekends and camps, visits, sport, music, DofE and AT.
The HRFCA Annual Association Meeting, which was scheduled to take place at Queen’s Barracks in Perth on March 21, has been postponed.
Other events which HRFCA was either running or involved with which have also been postponed or cancelled are:
March 20: Armed Forces Networking Meeting (at HRFCA in Dundee).
April 5: Knockhill Armed Forces Appreciation Day.
April 6: Exercise Joint Warrior (employer visit).
April 21: Royal Gun Salute at Stirling Castle.
April 25: ACFA (Scotland) Beating Retreat at Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.
May 27: Behind the Wire at Leuchars Station (employer event).
May 29: Clackmannanshire Armed Forces Day.
June: All Armed Forces Week, Armed Forces Day and Reserves Day events.
August 7-29: The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
With the ongoing fluid nature of the pandemic it is highly likely that further events and activities will be impacted. We will update the above list as and when we know of further developments.
