The new extension (pictured, above) at the Joint Cadet Centre (JCC) in Dingwall is nearing completion.

The £1.3 million project will increase the size of the existing 1st Battalion The Highlanders Army Cadet Force (ACF) building, enabling it to become a facility shared by young people and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV) from the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC).

Work is due to be completed in approximately four to six weeks.

Two classrooms, two offices and two storerooms will be added to the existing building footprint.

The project has also seen solar panels installed on the Highlander accommodation block. These will help the centre to hopefully achieve an excellent Defence Related Environmental Assessment Methodology (DREAM) assessment.

Dundee-based architecture and interior design firm Andrew Black Design will deliver the project.

Earlier this year the firm signed the Armed Forces Covenant. It has also received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award.

The project is due to be finished in around four to six weeks.
