Armed Forces Covenant Conference

The Armed Forces Covenant Conference was held in Glasgow from 2 to 3 July at the Edmiston House venue near Ibrox Stadium.

More than 200 delegates gathered to hear from a range of speakers, and to enjoy breakout sessions focusing on the Armed Forces Covenant. There were also networking opportunities and a chance to visit a range of display stands from third sector organisations.

Subjects covered on the first day included the ‘Vision for the Armed Forces Covenant’, and ‘The Demographics and needs of the Armed Forces community’.

Day one finished with an evening reception and a chance to hear from Alistair Carns, Minister for Veterans and People, on his recent successful ascent of Mount Everest.

Day two saw keynote speeches from Alistair Carns and Susie Hamilton, the Scottish Veterans Commissioner.

Highland RFCA Head of Engagement Michelle McKearnon and Defence Relationship Manager Ray Watt were in attendance to learn about the latest Covenant developments.
