Aurora Energy Services is an international, multi-disciplinary services company, with extensive expertise in the energy sector. It helps its customers maximise lifespan and returns from their energy assets, both on and offshore.

Aurora first signed the Armed Forces Covenant in August. By signing the Covenant, it has become one of the 12,000+ organisations to pledge support to the Armed Forces community.

Its commitment to honouring the Covenant includes pledges to:

  • Promote the fact it is an Armed Forces-friendly organisation.
  • Support the employment of Veterans and Service leavers.
  • Support the employment of Service spouses and partners.
  • Support employees who are members of the Reserve Forces; granting additional unpaid leave for training; supporting any mobilisations and deployment; actively encourage members of staff to become Reservists.
  • Support employees who are volunteer leaders in military cadet organisations; granting additional unpaid leave to attend annual training camps and courses; actively encourage staff to become volunteer leaders in cadet organisations.
  • Support Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal Day and Remembrance activities.
  • Support Armed Forces charities.
  • Offer a discount to members of the Armed Forces community.

Aurora also received the ERS Bronze Award. The ERS Awards encourage employers to support Defence and inspire others to do the same. The prestigious Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards are for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the Armed Forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Andy Elrod said: “We are delighted to be awarded the Bronze Award, which reflects our commitment to supporting those who have served. At our bespoke training centre in Inverness, we recognise the immense value of the transferable skills Veterans bring from their military experience. We look forward to helping them reskill and transition into rewarding careers in the renewable energy sector, where their dedication, discipline, and expertise are highly valued.”

Aurora Training Instructor Andrew Bugden added: “As a Veteran, I’m proud to work for a company that actively supports the Armed Forces Covenant. I’ve found great fulfilment in working for an employer that values the skills and experiences Veterans bring. Aurora provides an incredibly supportive environment for anyone transitioning from military to civilian life, who is looking to find new opportunities in the renewable energy sector.”
