Officer Cadets from URNU (University Royal Naval Unit) East Scotland enjoyed a busy and energetic start to the new term.

The unit was thrilled to welcome 22 new Acting Officer Cadets onboard and to continue delivering teaching, sport and Adventurous Training to its returning ranks.

2nd and 3rd year Officer Cadets resumed their regular Tuesday drill night training at the beginning of September.

With a focus on the maritime training pillar, groups enjoyed a unique opportunity to take a guided tour around Dutch Walrus-class submarine His Netherlands Majesty’s Ship (HNLMS) Dolfijn (main image at top of page).

There was also an opportunity partake in a Port Edgar afloat weekend run by the Senior Training Officer. Cadets gained valuable sailing and power boat qualifications whilst demonstrating their continued commitment to developing teamwork and leadership skills.
