A cadet from 1st Battalion The Highlanders Army Cadet Force has been awarded a Praiseworthy Action Certificate by the Army Cadet Charitable Trust (ACCT).
Cadet Staff Sergeant Vaila Thompson was attending her local Dance Club when a young girl also attending the club fell, sustaining a head injury.
Vaila dealt with the casualty and, after the child’s mother arrived, was able to offer her support and advice that she take the girl to A&E.
Her prompt and effective help was recognised with the ACCT certificate.
The award was presented to Cadet Staff Sergeant Thompson by Battalion Commandant Colonel Tim Martin (pictured).
