The £1.3 million project increased the size of the existing 1st Battalion The Highlanders Army Cadet Force (ACF) building, enabling it to become a facility shared by young people and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV) from the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC).
Two classrooms, two offices and two storerooms were added to the existing building footprint.
In addition, solar panels were installed on the Highlander accommodation block.

The building is net zero due to the use of green technologies and will allow for the disposal of the two stand-alone ACF and RAFAC properties located across the road.
