MBE honour for Deputy Commandant

Congratulations from Highland RFCA to Deputy Commandant of The Black Watch Battalion Army Cadet Force on being awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the King’s New Year’s Honours List.

The accolade for Lieutenant Colonel Kat Douglas reflects her outstanding dedication, leadership, and tireless service to the Army Cadet Force. Her commitment has made a lasting impact on cadets and volunteers alike.

Lieutenant Colonel Douglas said: “I am deeply grateful for all the kind comments and support I’ve received regarding my MBE.

“It’s truly an honour to be recognised for doing something I’m so passionate about. The joy of seeing the incredible achievements of all the cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers continues to inspire me every day. This recognition is a reflection of the collective effort and dedication within our Battalion. I’m privileged to be part of such a dedicated and hard-working team.”

The Battalion’s Major Michael McCluskey said of Lieutenant Colonel Douglas: “Her tireless efforts have helped shape the lives of countless cadets, providing them with invaluable skills, confidence, and opportunities.”

Our congratulations also go to Major Grenville Archer Irvine Fortescue, Volunteer and Gordon Highlander Welfare Officer. He has been awarded an MBE for services to the Gordon Highlanders.

Major Irvine Fortescue is a Selected Military Member of Highland RFCA’s Northern Area Committee and Deputy Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire.
