Highland RFCA Regional Employer Engagement Director Ray Watt spread the news about the valuable transferable skills Reservists can bring to companies of all sizes during an event in Aberdeen.
OEUK (Offshore Energies UK) Share Fair 2025 was held at P&J Live in the city on 19 March. The essential energy supply chain event aimed to connect companies working in oil and gas, offshore wind, hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
OEUK signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2023 and, in 2024, was awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award. It is the leading representative body for the UK offshore energy industries. Membership is open to all companies active in the UK continental shelf.

Supported by the North Sea Transition Authority, Share Fair aimed to deliver value to participants by encouraging both buyer and seller to focus on ways to work collaboratively on UK energy projects.
Informative presentations took place throughout the day, including input from organisations with an interest not only in oil and gas but also offshore wind, CCS and hydrogen.
Among the participating organisations were several Armed Forces-friendly companies. These included Armed Forces Covenant signatories Aberdeen City Council and Wood (both hold ERS Gold Awards), as well as Covenant signatories and Bronze Award holders Flotation Energy and Spirit Energy.
Many thanks to OEUK for providing us with a stand at the event.
