£10k boost for Ross cadets

A trio of detachments from 1st Battalion The Highlanders have benefitted from nearly £10,000 in funding.

The Co-op Local Community Fund money will go towards improving the cadet experience at the Alness, Dingwall and Kyle Detachments.

The first of three cheque presentations was in Kyle of Lochalsh and was attended by the cadets of Kyle Detachment (pictured above), who accepted a cheque of £5031.08 which was raised by Co-op members of the local community.

The second presentation was in Dingwall and was attended by Ross Company’s Sergeant Major CSMI Craig MacIver (34), who accepted a cheque for £3509.88 on behalf of Dingwall Detachment.

The final presentation took place at the Co-op in Alness, and was attended by Alness Detachment Commander Lieutenant Stuart Nicolson (31), who accepted a cheque for £1350 on behalf of the detachment.
