The 2 Sisters Food Group site in Coupar Angus has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and been awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Bronze Award.
Highland RFCA Regional Employer Engagement Director Roy McLellan visited the company on 2 September to present their Covenant and Bronze Award. Site Director John Nicholson received the awards.

2 Sisters Food Group (Coupar Angus) joins the 8500+ UK organisations to have already signed the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Covenant is a commitment to ensure those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
2 Sisters pledges include:
- Promoting the fact it is an Armed Forces-friendly organisation
- Supporting the employment of Veterans
- Supporting employees who are Reservists; granting additional unpaid leave for training; supporting any mobilisations and deployment
- Supporting employees who are Cadet Force Adult Volunteers; granting additional unpaid leave for training, and actively encouraging staff to become leaders in cadet organisations
- Supporting Armed Forces events
- Supporting Armed Forces charities
Signing the Covenant sets companies on the path to have their pledge recognised through the Employer Recognition Scheme. This scheme incorporates prestigious Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, granted in recognition of their pledge to support defence and the Armed Forces Community.
John Nicholson of 2 Sisters said: “We are very excited about this partnership. We are close to the Armed Forces here at Coupar Angus and work heavily with them in our initiatives.”
HRFCA’s Roy McLellan said: “We are delighted that the 2 Sisters Food Group (Coupar Angus) has signed the Covenant and received ERS Bronze. We look forward to further developing our relationship with them in the future, and thank them for supporting the Armed Forces.”
