Eight Cadets from 379 (County of Ross) Squadron based in Alness were presented with their St Johns Youth First Aid Certificates and badges on 16 August.

This was the result of many hours training and study under the supervision of qualified First Aid Instructors.

Pilot Officer David Anderson RAFVR(T), Commanding Officer of 379 Squadron, said: “Our Cadets have once again shown that they can accomplish many things if they just have a go.

“They were assessed at a recent Squadron training weekend and even though they felt under pressure, they dealt with the scenarios very well and proved to the assessor and themselves that they could pass.

“This qualification is not an Air Cadet qualification but one from St Johns Ambulance and we are thankful that we are able to train young people in the Alness area with such a skill. We’d like to thank Sgt (ATC) Neil Jack from 161 (1st Highland) Squadron for assessing our Cadets.”
