The commanding officers of Tidworth-based 19 and Scotland’s 105 Regt Royal Artillery held a cocktail party on 7 May to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Royal Regiment of Artillery and the arrival in Scotland of the Captain General’s Baton.
The event was held in the Great Hall of Edinburgh Castle by permission of the Governor and was hosted by officers of both regiments.
Guests included representatives of Highland and Lowland RFCAs and members of Royal Artillery associations.
They enjoyed a performance by the pipes and drums of 19 Regt and a display of Scottish country dancing before being piped out of the castle.
Following the reception, the baton progressed to Inverness for a parade on 8 May.
