Cadets from 379 (County of Ross) Sqn, based in Alness, joined other Cadets from around the Highlands at RAF Lossiemouth for the annual Highland Wing Field Day Competitions.

379 Squadron again took home the trophy for Aircraft Recognition, an area they have proven to excel at year-on-year.

The team from Alness will now go on to attend the Scotland and Northern Ireland Regional Competition at Rosyth in September.

Pilot Officer David Anderson RAFVR(T), Commanding Officer of 379 Squadron said: “Our Squadron have an excellent record in the Aircraft Recognition Competitions, winning at UK level for the past several years and I hope we can continue that trend.

“This year showed that the effort of our Cadets has again paid off. We have more preparation to do for the Regional Competition and I thank Civilian Instructor Eddie Wallace who teaches this subject to our Cadets with unmatched enthusiasm.”
