The prize for outstanding Exercise Executive Stretch syndicate member was presented at Stirling Council HQ.
David Crighton (51) scooped the award, which was presented by Highland RFCA’s SaBRE Campaign Director Ron Macgregor.
David, who works for the council, was rewarded for showing fantastic levels of commitment during Executive Stretch. He was part of syndicate 5.
The exciting three-day event, centered on Edinburgh’s Redford Barracks on June 5, 6 and 7, was designed to enable employers and their staff to experience various aspects of Reservist training.
Also at the presentation were council employees Tracey Walker, Kirsty Bright and Lorna Kerr. Stirling Provost Mike Robbins was also on hand to congratulate David.
Kirsty was part of the overall winning syndicate and Lorna was in the same syndicate as David.
David said the biggest thing that kept him going over a tough weekend was the camaraderie shown by the Armed Forces personnel at the event. He said it was a “fantastic experience” and, had he been 20 or 30 years younger, he would have seriously considered joining the Reserves.
Kirsty Bright added that it had been an amazing experience and that she loved every moment, especially sleeping outside on the Saturday night.
