International SOS has received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award.
Highland RFCA Regional Employer Engagement Director (REED) Ray Watt presented the award to the global firm on 3 May at its office in Aberdeen (main picture). Training Manager Paul Davie accepted the award on behalf of International SOS.
International SOS has been recognised as an Armed Forces-friendly organisation that values the contribution of serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families to the region’s economy and communities.
The organisation has policies in place to provide flexibility for employees who are spouses or partners of service personnel, and those who are reservists. They also support Armed Forces charities and offer discounts to members of the Armed Forces community.
International SOS previously signed the Armed Forces Covenant in September 2021. The Covenant is a commitment to ensure those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
The Covenant sets companies on the path to have their pledge recognised through the Employer Recognition Scheme. This scheme incorporates prestigious Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, granted in recognition of their pledge to support defence and the Armed Forces Community.
International SOS is the occupational health and remote medical services specialist with a proven track record in providing market-leading health solutions. It also offers offshore occupational healthcare support to North Sea clients in the oil and gas industry.
Recruitment Advisor Hanna Maclachlan said: “We are delighted that International SOS Medical Services UK has been recognised as an organisation that pledges, demonstrates and advocates support to Defence and the Armed Forces community.”
