Cadets from 2nd Battalion The Highlanders ACF along with their cadet colleagues from 1st Battalion The Highlanders ACF were the guests of 39 Engineer Regiment at Kinloss Barracks.
During the day the cadets participated in various tasks under the watchful eye of instructors from the Royal Engineers. Cadets had the opportunity to try out mine detecting equipment, build shelters using sand bags and have a go at operating a mechanical digger.
After lunch it was time for a competition. This saw the various groups building a working catapult from a STEM kit (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
STEM kits are amazing tools to teach young people inspiration, teamwork and problem-solving techniques.
Before departing for their homes cadets were presented with attendance certificates by the Commanding Officer of 39 Engineer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Adam Birley.
Both Battalions thank the staff at Kinloss Barracks for a wonderful and exciting day last month.
