Highland RFCA Chief Executive Brigadier Mark Dodson travelled west to visit Reserve and Cadet facilities the Association has recently renovated or is about to renovate.

These included Daliburgh and Benbecula detachments of 1st Battalion The Highlanders ACF and the Stornoway Army Reserve Centre. All of these are on the Western Isles.

It also included a visit to the drill night of the Tarbert detachment of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Battalion ACF on the mainland (main image).

Whilst in Stornoway ARC the Chief Executive met the OC of the ATC, ACF Company Commander, OC of ACF Stornoway, WO2 Smith – the 7SCOTS PSI, and Lord-Lieutenant for the Western Isles, Mr Iain Macaulay.

The Daliburgh access road has been upgraded.

Throughout the visit Brigadier Dodson was guided around by Cadet Administrative Assistant Western Isles, Dusty Miller.

This was his third visit in his seven years as CE, and follows on from a visit to Orkney in July.
