Semco Maritime has been presented with the Armed Forces Covenant and Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award.
HRFCA Regional Employer Engagement Director Ray Watt handed over the certificates to Managing Director & UK Country Head David Hutchinson at Semco Maritime’s Aberdeen offices on April 21 (pictured above, with David on left).
By signing the Covenant, Semco Maritime has become one of the 10,000+ organisations to pledge support to the Armed Forces community.
Semco Maritime’s commitment to honouring the Covenant includes pledges to:
- Promote the fact it is an Armed Forces-friendly organisation.
- Support the employment of veterans.
- Support the employment of Service spouses and partners.
- Support employees who are members of the Reserve Forces by supporting any mobilisations and deployment.
- Support employees who are Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.
- Support Armed Forces Day and other National events.
- Support Armed Forces Charities.
Semco Maritime first signed the Covenant in November 2022.
David said: “For Semco Maritime, signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant signifies our commitment to supporting the military community including serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and their families. We work within industries that have recognised the value of our Armed Forces personnel, their ethos, values, and experience. We therefore value our opportunity to recognise this and provide support to all aspects of the military community.”
Semco Maritime also received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award. The ERS awards encourage employers to support Defence and inspire others to do the same. The prestigious Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards are for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the Armed Forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
