Dundee and Angus College has been awarded the MoD’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award.

College Principal Grant Ritchie received the award at Tayforth University Officer Training Corps’ Army Reserve Centre in Dundee from the unit’s Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Al Jarvis RE.

Dundee and Angus College joins the growing list of colleges and universities to have received the Bronze Award in the Highland RFCA area.

The ERS awards encourage employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The Bronze, Silver and Gold awards are for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the Armed Forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Mr Ritchie said: “Dundee and Angus College is delighted to receive the Bronze Award for our commitment to working with the Armed Forces. We recognise the skills and attributes young people can develop through exposure to the activities of the Reserve and Regular forces and we are delighted to work in partnership.”

Lt Col Jarvis added: “The Bronze Award is a real statement of intent to support our Armed Forces. It was with great pride that I presented the award to Dundee & Angus College who, like Tayforth UOTC, are developing people to maximise their potential. We look forward to building a strong bond with the college as they strive towards Silver and Gold awards.”

The 6 November presentation was organised by Highland RFCA Regional Employer Engagement Director Roy McLellan.
