Dundee F.C. kickstarts 2022

March 1, 2022

Dundee Football Club (F.C.) is presented with both the Armed Forces Covenant and Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award certificates.

The professional football club had previously signed the Armed Forces Covenant – a commitment to support the country’s servicemen and women wherever and however an organisation can – in January 2022.

Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association’s Regional Employer Engagement Director Roy McLellan presented Dundee F.C.’s Managing Director John Nelms and Community Trust Manager Greg Fenton with the Covenant and Bronze Award certificates on 24 February.

Dundee F.C.’s commitment to honouring the Covenant includes pledges to:

  • Promote the fact it is an Armed Forces-friendly organisation.
  • Deliver work to veterans and their immediate families free of charge.
  • Support the employment of veterans.
  • Support employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces by accommodating their training and deployment.
  • Support the employment of Service spouses and partners.
  • Actively encourage members of staff to become Reservists.

Dundee F.C. joins more than 6,000 organisations to have already shown their support by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Covenant sets companies on the path to have their pledge recognised though the Employer Recognition Scheme. The Bronze Award is in recognition of the support the football club gives to defence and the Armed Forces community.
