Highland RFCA attended an Employer Engagement Day designed to give Scottish businesses a greater understanding of the benefits of hiring Veterans.
The Recruit Veterans event – held at Hampden Park, Glasgow on 15 March – was hosted by Veterans Scotland in partnership with the Scottish Government. Other event delivery partners included the Officers Association Scotland, Skills Development Scotland; and the Career Transition Partnership.
It was a day of lively debate and interactive activities followed by valuable networking opportunities.
The event highlighted how many employers are now targeting talented, skilled and passionate veterans to fill roles within their organisations. It also explained how this benefits the wider economy.
It also saw the roll out of a new WEBSITE dedicated to supporting businesses wanting to tap into this veteran resource.
Among the attendees were stakeholders from businesses, government, the MOD, charities and veterans themselves.
HRFCA Head of Engagement Michelle McKearnon joined an onstage panel discussing the positive impact veterans can have in civilian workplaces.
