Lieutenant Christina Deans of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders ACF and former deputy commandant Lt Col Gilly Moncur received Lord Lieutenant’s Awards at Stirling Castle.
The presentations took place following the Royal Gun Salute hosted by 7 SCOTS in celebration of the Queen’s official birthday and fired by the Army Reservist gunners of 105 Regiment Royal Artillery.
Cadet Commandant Colonel Niall Archibald read the award submission for Lt Deans for her exceptional service beyond the call of duty as an adult volunteer in the ACF.
She was awarded the Certificate of Meritorious Service from Alan Simpson, Lord Lieutenant for Stirling and Falkirk.
Lt Deans said: “This accolade has come as a lovely surprise but I could not have achieved this award without all the team of adult volunteers who work tirelessly as I do to make the Army Cadet Force one of the best youth organisations for our young people.”
The Certificate of Meritorious Service was also awarded to Lt Col Moncur who recently moved on to National level for the ACF, but continues to provide support to the Battalion for Lord Dannatt’s Round Britain Challenge.
