Presentation of Lord Lieutenant's certificate

An Army Cadet volunteer from the Western Isles has received a Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate for their hard work to improve the lives of the young people of the Outer Hebrides.

Sergeant Major Instructor Iain Moar (57), from 1st Battalion The Highlanders’ Daliburgh Detachment, was presented with a Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate of Meritorious Service for his dedicated service to the Cadet Force.

SMI Moar, who is currently the Detachment Commander at Daliburgh, has been part of the Battalion since April 2010, when he joined as an instructor with Daliburgh. In April 2011, Iain temporarily transferred to Benbecula Detachment to assist the cadets of the detachment and to understand the inner workings of being in charge of a Cadet Detachment before taking over at Daliburgh – which he did in October 2011.

SMI Moar was presented with his certificate by the Deputy Lord Lieutenants of the Western Isles Angus Macintyre and Alasdair MacEachan (pictured), towards the end of Benbecula & Daliburgh Detachment’s Joint Training Day the cadets were hosting on Benbecula.
