Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for the Western Isles recently presented his new Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet – Cadet Lance Corporal Michael Gray – with his certificate (pictured, above).
Michael, who attends Daliburgh Detachment of 1st Battalion The Highlanders Army Cadet Force, will hold the role of Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet for the Western Isles for one year.
During this time he will assist the Lord-Lieutenant – Mr Iain Macaulay – in his duties as The Queen’s appointed representative for the Western Isles and will also act as an ambassador for cadets and young people in the Lieutenancy.
Mr Macaulay became Lord-Lieutenant in March, succeeding Mr Donald Martin. He had previously served as a Deputy Lieutenant from 2003.
