David Duguid MP visited the cadets and adult volunteers of 2nd Battalion The Highlanders ACF at their Boddam training centre.
The Member for Banff and Buchan was welcomed by Battalion Commandant Colonel Gordon Rae, the Vittoria Company Commander and Cadet Executive Officer, Major Stuart Eddie.
As well as seeing the cadets taking part in training, Mr Duguid had the opportunity to speak to adult volunteers who gave him an insight into the varied opportunities available in the Army Cadet Force.
The visit on December 4 coincided with the first of three planned company residential training weekends at the Boddam CTC in December.
This saw nearly 90 cadets and 25 Adult Volunteers from Vittoria Company taking part in activities including shooting, First Aid, STEM, Command Tasks and Drill.
Mr Duguid said: “I managed to observe cadets from all over North East Scotland take part in training and parades at this fantastic facility that serves 21 detachments (seven in Banff and Buchan) across three companies, Corunna, Somme and Vittoria.”
The MP also presented a number of awards, medals and promotions to the cadets (pictured).
Mr Duguid thanked the cadets and the cadet force adult volunteers for all the excellent work they and other cadet forces around the UK do for their local communities. He also thanked Col Rae and Major Eddie for arranging the visit.
