We are delighted to announce that Major General James Gordon CB CBE (pictured) has formally taken over the role of Chief Executive of the Council of RFCAs.

He follows in the footsteps of AVM Paul Luker CB OBE AFC DL who retires after 10 years’ service.

Maj Gen Gordon’s responsibilities will be to act as the representative of the 13 Regional Associations – including Highland RFCA – to Defence customers in negotiating and delivering Service Level Agreements.

He will also represent the Council at strategic level across Defence in management meetings and act as the Accountable Officer for financial and commercial practice.

Maj Gen Gordon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role. His last appointment in the Army was as Senior British Loan Service Officer to the Sultan of Oman. His military career also includes postings to Northern Ireland, Germany, the Falkland Islands and Cyprus. He has also participated in tours to Bosnia and Iraq.
