Members of the Armed Forces Community and the public across the UK are this week celebrating Armed Forces Week.
As part of that 19-24 June event we are highlighting some of the outstanding cadets in the HRFCA area.
These cadets have all been appointed Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets for 2023-24. The period of appointment runs for a year from Armed Forces Day, June 24.
Each of the cadets will assist the Lord-Lieutenants, helping them carry out their official duties in each of their lieutenancies across the Highlands and Islands.
Petty Officer Cadet Casey Hutchison, of the Sea Cadets, received her Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet Certificate and badges from the Lord-Lieutenant of Fife, Mr Robert Balfour. That presentation took place on 19 April at TS AJAX in Methil. Mr Balfour is also the President of Highland RFCA.
The Lord-Lieutenant for Perth and Kinross, Mr Stephen Leckie, awarded his Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet Certificate to Cadet Corporal Kerri Paton of Morrison’s Academy CCF.
The Lord-Lieutenant said: “I was delighted to present Cadet Corporal Paton with her Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet Certificate and look forward to working with Kerri at the many events we have in the county in the coming year.”
The presentation to Cadet Corporal Paton took place on 22 May.
Two cadets in the Stirling and Falkirk lieutenancy received their certificates during the Royal Gun Salute held at Stirling Castle on 17 June in honour of the birthday of His Majesty The King.
Lord-Lieutenant Mr Alan Simpson OBE presented certificates to his two new Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets. They were Flight Sergeant Thomas Scott of 867 (Denny) Squadron of the RAF Air Cadets, and Cadet Sergeant Major Alicia Bullock of Queen Victoria School CCF.
Many congratulations to those cadets, and all of the other new Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets for 2023/34 in the HRFCA area. We look forward to highlighting your many achievements over the coming 12 months.
