REME reservists train STEM pupils

The latest STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) training partnership between Grangemouth-based 153 Coy REME and Graeme High School, Falkirk, culminated in a presentation of certificates.

Fifth-year students received hands-on instruction as part of their Nat 5 Engineering course from SSgts Meffen and Maclellan and Sgts Bouskill and Magee.

The course, run at the ARC Grangemouth, covered vehicle mechanics, electronics and machining.

Head Teacher Lesley Carroll, said: “This training gives the youngsters a passport to future careers in engineering, not just in and around Falkirk, but anywhere in the world.”

The certificates were awarded by Honorary Colonel, John Campbell, with the training hosted by OC, Maj Brian Cuthbert-Imrie.
