Monifieth Medical Practice was presented with a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award on 24 July.
Highland RFCA Regional Employer Engagement Director Roy McLellan attended the practice in Angus to present the certificate to Eliza Matthew-Hiney, Practice Manager (pictured).
She said: “We are deeply honoured and thrilled to have been awarded the ERS Silver this year. This recognition reinforces our dedication to excellence. We are eager to celebrate this milestone with our community and remain committed to fostering innovation and success for the future. We uphold our commitment as an Armed Forces-friendly employer, aiming to acquire, retain, and maximise the skills of defence personnel.”
Monifieth Medical Practice was one of eight in the HRFCA-area to achieve Silver status in 2024.
The Award from the Ministry of Defence is in recognition of the support the organisations give to the Armed Forces community.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme recognises those who demonstrate or advocate support to the Armed Forces community and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant – a pledge from the nation that those who serve or who have served and their families are treated fairly.
Monifieth Medical Practice signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2015.
Silver winners must meet certain criteria, including: employing at least one individual from the Armed Forces community, actively ensuring that their workforce is aware of their positive policies, demonstrating support to mobilisations of Reservists and providing at least five days’ additional leave for training.
