HRFCA were lucky to be invited over to Park Wynd in Dundee on 28 March for the inaugural Open Night run by B Squadron of Tayforth Universities Officers Training Corps.

The evening, hosted by the Officer Commanding B Squadron, Captain John Culling, featured presentations by the Tayforth Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Al Jarvis and a number of Officer Cadets, who described the range of activities they get involved with and the challenges and rewards of being a member of the OTC.

There was no shortage of enthusiasm on display, and one of the Dundee University academics in the audience commented that while those of ‘her’ students present on the night showed similar commitment in tutorials there was a definite difference in the level of smartness on display!

The evening concluded in style with a fork buffet and a chance for the guests to chat to the Officer Cadets and hear more of their experiences and career aspirations.

All in all a most enjoyable and informative occasion and one which Tayforth OTC hopes to repeat in the future.
