Robert Gordon’s College Combined Cadet Force Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet Sgt Daisy, S6, was present at a Service of Thanksgiving in St Machar’s Cathedral on 13 May.

The event was organised by the four North-East Lieutenancies to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

On one of her last public duties as Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet before her term of office comes to an end on Armed Forces Day, 24th June, Daisy welcomed guests at the Cathedral door.

She was then in the official procession, which included the Lord-Lieutenants of Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Kincardineshire and Banffshire and the Domestic Chaplain to His Majesty The King.

Wg Cdr Daniel Montgomery (pictured above with Daisy) was amongst the guests in the packed Cathedral. RGC piping instructor Siobhan Monaghan provided the pipe music at the Cathedral entrance.

Daisy said: “It was a privilege to be invited by the Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeen to participate in this memorable event, as it has been to accompany him on various occasions throughout the year. I am grateful to him for the tremendous opportunities which the position has given me and thank him and the Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association for supporting the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet scheme.”
