THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN!

Seven senior cadets from the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Battalion ACF took part in the 51 Brigade Senior Cadet Instructors Cadre (SCIC).

The course – held at Barry Buddon – allows the Cadets to be able to teach up to senior level.

Over the first six days, the group were assessed by the Cadet training team on delivering four different lessons from the APC syllabus; drill, fieldcraft, navigation and skill at arms. On days seven and eight the Cadets also enjoyed a day exercise plus a section attack out in the fieldcraft areas of the training area, where they learned the best way to teach outdoor fieldcraft lessons, such as patrolling and entering a harbour area.

Although it was hard work, the Cadets all successfully passed their SCIC and represented the Battalion brilliantly.

Special congratulations go to Cpl Joseph Ash from Kirkintilloch Detachment, F Squadron, who also received the award of Best Cadet of the cadre.

Further congratulations to: Cpl Andrew Carr – Kirkintilloch Detachment, F squadron; L/Cpl Luke MacEwan – Cumbernauld Detachment, F Squadron; S/Sgt Courtney Tuff – Dunblane Detachment, A company; S/Sgt Steven Gray – Tillicoultry Detachment, C Company; Sgt McKenzie Mcalees – Clydebank Detachment, E Company; Sgt Conor McGuire – Vale of Leven Detachment, E Company.
