Thousands of spectators gathered at Stirling’s King’s Park on June 20 for the city’s Military Show and Armed Forces Day celebrations.

Highland RFCA provided a hospitality marquee for VIP guests including the Commander of 51 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Paul Harkness, Stirling Provost Mike Robbins and Clackmannanshire Provost Tina Murphy.

Events on the sunny day included a parade of troops, Cadets and veterans, an ATC V ACF drill competition, a Police Scotland dog handling demonstration, music and dance from The Kennedy Cupcakes, a Royal Marines and 3 SCOTS skills demonstration, and an atmospheric Beating the Retreat from the band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Outwith the main arena there was a wide variety of stands and stalls featuring weapons systems, vintage vehicles and more.

A particular highlight of the show was the parade from the city centre to the park where an inspection was led by the Deputy Lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk, Mr Alan Simpson. Earlier, the show was opened by Provost Robbins.

The hospitality provided by HRFCA was a great success with the catering and drinks enjoyed by all.
