Applications are invited for two full-time Administrative Officer (Employer Engagement) posts at Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (HRFCA) based in Dundee.
The posts are permanent Crown Servant (Civil Servant Band E1 equivalents). The successful candidates will be eligible to join the Council of RFCA’s Pension Scheme which operates on a Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) basis and has a personal contribution for members of 5% of pensionable earnings. Annual leave, excluding Public Holidays, is 25 days per year, rising to 30 days after five years’ service; previous public sector employment may count towards qualifying years’ service. The successful applicants will undergo a six-month probationary period. During the probationary period, the Administrative Officers will work from the Dundee Office Monday to Friday inclusive. On successful completion of probation, the post holders may apply to move onto the hybrid working pattern of three days in the office and two days working at home. Permission to work a hybrid rota is at the discretion of the Chief Executive.
HRFCA: HRFCA supports the Reserve Forces and Service Cadet organisations throughout its area, which extends from Forth-Clyde north to cover the Highlands and Islands. Its role includes managing the Reserve Estate, engaging with the communities and employers within its area, and acting as an advocate for Britain’s Defence and its Armed Forces.
Employer Engagement: Vital to HRFCA’s success is the establishment and maintenance of mutually-beneficial working relationships with employers and commercial organisations across its area. The Administrative Officers (Employer Engagement) are responsible for assisting the Regional Employer Engagement Directors (REEDs) in managing a large number of employer accounts, primarily through the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management IT system. This will involve maintaining an accurate, dynamic employer database, creating Salesforce ‘campaigns’, processing data downloads to the system and conducting continuous data cleansing. The post-holders will encourage employers’ involvement in the Armed Forces Covenant programme and Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), preparing Armed Forces Covenants for signature and identifying when re-appraisal of ERS Awards is due. Arranging appointments for the REEDs to visit employers, helping with the planning and delivery of events, and undertaking general administrative support tasks represent further aspects of this role.
Skills Required: The successful applicants will be well organised, numerate and with sound written and verbal communication skills. They will be expected to demonstrate initiative, team-working and problem-solving, and will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ideally they will also have experience of working with a Customer Relationship Management IT system, and of telephone-based customer service, and should have some experience of events planning. The successful applicants may be asked to undertake work-related travel and on occasion to be flexible with working hours. TOIL (time off in lieu) may be claimed if additional hours are worked.
Application: Applicants should forward a covering letter setting out their suitability, interest in and motivation for this post, together with a CV of no more than two pages and details of two referees to [email protected]. Interviews will take place on Tuesday 15 April 2025 and the successful applicants will be notified soon thereafter.
