Mission accomplished

29.04.2019

The second leg of HRFCA’s marathon challenge was completed by Head of Engagement Dai John at the Simplyhealth Great Stirling Run half marathon yesterday.

Head of Comms Ally Duncan ran the first leg of the challenge at the Alloa Half Marathon last month.

The Highland Cadet Forces Trust benefitted from Dai’s efforts.

The duo’s efforts raised £485 for the Highland Cadet Forces Trust. The money will be used to allow the young people and adult volunteers of the cadet movement to develop leadership and life/social skills.

Dai’s sore calf didn’t let him down on race day.

Dai completed the Stirling event in a respectable time of 2:06:56, impressive given that a calf injury put paid to his plans to run at Alloa, and he’d only been able to do minimal training while recuperating.

The pair have now set their sights on tackling the full marathon distance together at Stirling in 2020.
