Clacks Business Awards 2017

HRFCA REED Ron Macgregor and Head of Engagement Dai John donned their dinner jackets for last night’s Clacks Business Awards 2017. 

The awards at Alloa Town Hall ­recognise and reward local business achievement across the Wee County.

Winners came from a wide range of backgrounds, including new upstarts, established organisations and not-for-profit groups.

Hosted by BBC presenter Bryan Burnett, the fourth annual awards showcased the wealth of talent the county has to offer. Guest speaker was Stuart Cassells, the founder of ‘Bagrock’ pipe band The Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

The Ministry of Defence sponsored the Most Impressive Employee of the Year Award, won by Francesca Hollinshead of Gean House.

Dai John presented her with the award, recognising her incredible rise through the ranks at Gean House which has seen her go from part-time waitress to full-time wedding co-ordinator and master of ceremonies.

A special award was given to runner-up Michelle Teed of Higglety Pigglety, who also greatly impressed the judging panel.

The winners were:

  • Excellence in Customer Service: Inglewood House and Spa
  • Food, Drink and Hospitality Award: The Ladybird Tea Room
  • Most Promising New Business Award – sponsored by Business Gateway: The Airborne Lens Company
  • Most Impressive Employee of the Year Award – sponsored by the Ministry of Defence: Francesca Hollinshead (Gean House)
  • Retail Business of the Year: Rhona McCallum Ltd
  • Apprenticeship Award – sponsored by Clackmannanshire Business: Lee Buchan (Diageo Abercrombie)
  • The Oustanding Performance Business Award – sponsored by Ceteris: Emblation Limited
