Lochaber Chamber of Commerce has received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award.
Highland RFCA’s Regional Employer Engagement Director Roy McLellan presented the award to Frazer Coupland, Chief Executive of the Chamber, on 22 March in Fort William (pictured above).
The award is in recognition of the support the organisation gives to the Armed Forces.
Lochaber Chamber had previously signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2018. The Covenant is a commitment to ensure those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
The Covenant sets companies on the path to have their pledge recognised through the Employer Recognition Scheme. This scheme incorporates prestigious Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, granted in recognition of their pledge to support defence and the Armed Forces Community.
Lochaber Chamber is aiming to move up the ERS ladder of support this year and is hoping to secure a Silver Award.
