International SOS has been presented with a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award.
Since the Award was first announced International SOS has become part of TAC Healthcare Group.
Highland RFCA Regional Employer Engagement Director Ray Watt presented the Award on 7 November at the organisation’s office in Aberdeen. HR Business Partner Juliette Johnston (pictured with Ray, above) received the Award on behalf of the company.
International SOS previously signed the Armed Forces Covenant in September 2021. The Armed Forces Covenant is a commitment to ensure those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
The company was one of 29 in the HRFCA area to achieve Silver status in 2023.
The Award from the Ministry of Defence is in recognition of the support the organisations give to the Armed Forces community.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme recognises those who demonstrate or advocate support to the Armed Forces community and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant – a pledge from the nation that those who serve or who have served and their families are treated fairly.
Silver winners must meet certain criteria, including: employing at least one individual from the Armed Forces community, actively ensuring that their workforce is aware of their positive policies, demonstrating support to mobilisations of Reservists and providing at least five days’ additional leave for training.
A ceremony was held at The Black Watch Castle and Museum in Perth on June 22 to present the winners with their Awards. International SOS was unable to attend, but is now in proud possession of the Award certificate.
