Highland RFCA’s Highland Gold Network (HGN) met on 13 September to once again share best practice in advocacy and support for the Armed Forces.

The meeting was hosted by the Royal Marines Charity and held at RM Condor in Arbroath. The charity is a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award holder, receiving the accolade last year.

Guests (pictured, above, in the Woodlands Garden of remembrance) were given a welcome brief by the Commanding Officer of 45 Commando Group, Lieutenant Colonel Alex Nixon.

Lt Col Nixon said: “I think the dedication and commitment that you show to the Armed Forces is absolutely fantastic. What you do by the support you provide them, makes them feel a part of society. I am really pleased that there is such a large group of businesses that we partner with.”

Nick Holloway (Relationship Manager for Scotland and former Royal Marine) then gave a brief on the Royal Marines Charity and what it does.
