Highland RFCA Regional Employer Engagement Director Ray Watt was honoured to attend the English Veterans Awards on 21 September.
In association with The ABF Soldiers’ Charity and proudly supporting the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, the ceremony was held at the Village Hotel, Bristol.
The ceremony was hosted by Radio X’s DJ Polly James and Sponsored by CXC Ltd.
The English Veterans Awards are open to all Veterans doing great things in England, Reservists that are going above and beyond and those companies that go the extra mile to support or recruit from the Armed Forces community.
There were a number of different award categories from Role Model of the Year to Contribution to the Fitness Industry.
There are also Scottish and Welsh versions of the Veterans Awards.
Ray attended as a guest of Aberdeen-based Armed Forces Covenant Signatory and Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award holder Serica Energy.
Matty Williamson – a Reservist with Serica Energy – volunteered his time to help with the judging of the Awards. Leading on from that, Serica will be a sponsor for the next Scottish Veterans Awards to be held in Edinburgh on 24 April.

Ange Windsor owns the company Print Inc Embroidery & Print. It was awarded a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award in 2021.
The company works directly with the Armed Forces including the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, Household Cavalry and Brecon Battle School, along with undertaking community activity and raising awareness and funds for Veterans and their families.
