IDEAS becomes first 2021 Covenant signatory

26.01.2021

IDEAS has become the first organisation in the Highland RFCA area to sign the Armed Forces Covenant in 2021.

The Covenant is a commitment to support the UK’s servicemen and women wherever and however it can, ensuring no member of the Armed Forces should suffer a disadvantage because of their service.

The Falkirk-based firm joins more than 6,000 organisations across the UK that have signed the Covenant. IDEAS creates company brands and digital visual assets.

The company’s commitment to honouring the Covenant includes pledges to:

  • Promote the fact it is an Armed Forces-friendly organisation.
  • Seek to support the employment of veterans young and old and work with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), in order to establish a tailored employment pathway for Service Leavers.
  • Strive to support the employment of Service spouses and partners.
  • Endeavour to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment.
  • Seek to support employees who choose to be members of the Reserve Forces, including by accommodating their training and deployment where possible.
  • Offering support to local cadet units, where possible.
  • Offer a discount to members of the Armed Forces Community.

Don Jack (pictured, above) from IDEAS signed the Covenant on behalf of his organisation.

The partner and creative director said: “As creative consultants, we’ve collaborated with the MOD and the Armed Forces on several engagement projects, not least of which, the Veterans into New Enterprise (ViNE) campaign.

“I believe everyone should have equal opportunity, choices and outcomes – the Armed Forces Covenant pledge is a great way to demonstrate our support for those who serve.

“We acknowledge the value that serving personnel, regular and reservists, veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.”

As an Armed Forces Covenant signatory, IDEAS is now eligible for a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze award.

The ERS awards encourage employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The prestigious Bronze, Silver and Gold awards are for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the Armed Forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
