Robert Gordon’s College has received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award.

The ERS Silver Award acknowledges employers who provide exceptional support to the Armed Forces community and Defence, by going above and beyond their Armed Forces Covenant pledges.

The college was first awarded Silver status in 2017 and this has been renewed, cementing its forces-friendly approach to recruitment and support for colleagues with military and Defence links, including veterans and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.

Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association’s Regional Employer Engagement Director Ray Watt visited the College in Aberdeen earlier this month to present Wing Commander Daniel Montgomery with the award (pictured).

Head of College, Mr Macpherson said: “We were very proud to be presented with the Silver Award in 2017, and the continuation of this in 2022 shows our ongoing commitment to the armed forces community. We absolutely believe in treating members of the services, past and present, with fairness and respect and will continue to maintain these high standards at Robert Gordon’s College.”

HRFCA’s Ray Watt said: “I was delighted to visit Robert Gordon’s College to present this award recognising their support of the Defence family. The revalidation of their Silver Award celebrates their close relationships with members of the Armed Forces community.”
