Tyler boosts his CV

LCpl McLeod-Taylor was presented with his certificate on Tuesday evening by the Battalion’s Commandant Colonel Mike MacDonald.

An Inverness-shire Army cadet has added an extra qualification to his CV after completing one of the many free qualifications the organisation offers.

Cadet Lance Corporal Tyler McLeod-Taylor (17), from 1st Battalion The Highlander’s Culloden Detachment, recently completed his BTEC Level 1 in Teamwork, Personal Skills and Citizenship.

The Qualification completed through the Army Cadet’s own qualification authority – Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation – is equivalent to a SCQF Level 4 with the Scottish Qualifications Authority. The internationally recognised qualification builds life-skills in leadership, teamwork, communications, problem-solving and fitness and is free to complete.

There was no extra work required for Tyler to achieve the qualification, all he had to do was complete his One Star Cadet Training and then fill in an application to be enrolled onto CVQO for his cadet training to be formally recognised by the organisation.
